This placement represents a tangible contribution by alumni of the Faculty of Psychology USU to community service in the field of psychology, particularly in expanding access to psychological services for communities in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions. The presence of volunteer psychologists on Mentawai Island is expected to help raise public awareness of the importance of mental health and promote psychological well-being through services and assistance tailored to the needs of local communities.

The “Psychology for the Nation in 3T Regions” program also demonstrates the role of psychologists in making psychological knowledge and practice beneficial to the wider community. Through this community service, the professional competencies acquired during their education can be applied directly to support communities while strengthening the role of psychology in addressing various mental health needs across Indonesia.

The contributions of Andre Hanedi Parlindungan Hasugian and Maulida Quratu Ai’ny Siregar align with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being, which aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. Efforts to expand access to psychological support are an important part of a comprehensive approach to health, including mental health.

The Faculty of Psychology USU hopes that this community service will benefit the people of Mentawai Island and inspire students and alumni to continue developing their competencies, social awareness, and professional responsibility. This initiative also reflects the commitment of psychology professionals to contributing to a healthier, more resilient, and more prosperous society.

Congratulations and best wishes for success to Andre Hanedi Parlindungan Hasugian and Maulida Quratu Ai’ny Siregar. May their service make a meaningful contribution to the community and promote an inclusive approach to psychology oriented toward collective well-being.
