Syifa Zulhiza, a student of the Professional Program in Psychology Student at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), developed “Sahabat Lansia,” a psychoeducational and social program designed to address limited social interaction among older adults. Through this initiative, Syifa contributes to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-Being by promoting physical health, psychological well-being, and quality of life among older adults through active and meaningful activities.
The two-day program featured four interactive sessions, including drawing, storytelling, fitness exercises, and group singing. As a follow-up initiative, Syifa also distributed a pocketbook entitled “Sahabat Lansia: Sehat & Aktif, Tetap Terhubung” (“Elderly Friends: Healthy & Active, Staying Connected”) to help older adults maintain their physical and psychological health as well as their social connections.
