USU Faculty of Psychology Public Relations Team — The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon, presented the Indonesian Cultural Figure Award to several cultural figures from Medan, one of whom was Muhammad Muhar Om Tatok, who received the award as a Cultural Activist. The award was presented by the Director of Cultural Values Empowerment and Intellectual Property Facilitation, I Made Dharma Suteja, at an event held at Hotel Dharma Deli Medan on Tuesday (September 22, 2026).

The Dean of the Faculty of Psychology USU, Prof. Dr. Vivi Gusrini Rahmadani Pohan, M.Sc., MA., Psychologist, stated that the Faculty of Psychology is proud to have alumni who have achieved accomplishments and made significant contributions to society and the country. She also expressed her hope that this achievement would inspire other students, particularly those in the Master's Program in Science Psychology. "Congratulations on the award. It is a recognition of your dedication and service to the development and preservation of Indonesian culture, particularly in North Sumatra. The faculty is proud to have alumni who have achieved accomplishments and made significant contributions to society and the Republic of Indonesia. Hopefully, this can inspire other students, particularly those in the Master's Program in Psychology at USU," she said.

M. Muhar Om Tatok is an alumnus of the 2021 cohort of the Master's Program in Science Psychology and is known as a figure who is active in the preservation and development of culture. This award is also a source of pride for the Faculty of Psychology USU, particularly as part of his academic journey as an alumnus.

This is in line with SDG 4 – Quality Education through the role of alumni and education in building awareness and knowledge about culture.

Congratulations on the award, M. Muhar Om Tatok. May the award as an Indonesian Cultural Figure serve as a momentum to continue creating, inspiring, and dedicating himself to the advancement and preservation of Indonesian culture.
